UAE E-Invoicing: The 30 October 2026 ASP Deadline Explained, and What Phase 1 Businesses Must Do Now
Phase 1 businesses must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026. Go-live on 1 January 2027 has not moved. Here is what to do now.
The Ministry of Finance moved the deadline for Phase 1 businesses to appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) from 31 July 2026 to 30 October 2026. Nothing published so far points to a second extension.
The extension only moved the appointment step. Mandatory e-invoicing for Phase 1 still starts on 1 January 2027, so a business appointing its ASP at the end of October has roughly two months for integration, testing and data clean-up.
The Full Rollout Timeline
The pilot and voluntary onboarding opened on 1 July 2026. From there, the dates depend on revenue and on whether the business is a government entity:
- Phase 1, revenue of AED 50 million or more: appoint an ASP by 30 October 2026, go live on 1 January 2027
- Phase 2, revenue below AED 50 million: appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027, go live on 1 July 2027
- Government entities: appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027, go live on 1 October 2027
How the 5-Corner Model Works
The UAE uses a 5-corner model. The seller sends invoice data from its ERP to its own ASP (corners 1 and 2). That ASP validates it, converts it to the PINT AE format and sends it to the buyer's ASP (corner 3), which delivers it to the buyer (corner 4). At the same time, tax data is reported to the FTA (corner 5).
The ASP carries the data, but the legal obligation to issue a compliant invoice stays with the business.
Choosing an ASP With Little Time Left
The Ministry's register of accredited providers has grown through 2026, and the "pre-approved" status some providers held earlier in the year has been abolished. Check that the provider you choose is fully accredited, not only listed.
Ask any provider how quickly it can connect to your ERP or accounting system, whether it supports PINT AE end to end, and what testing it will run with you before January.
The Risk of Delay
Cabinet Decision No. 106 of 2025 sets penalties for failing to implement e-invoicing or appoint an ASP on time. Beyond penalties, a business that is not live on 1 January 2027 risks being unable to issue valid invoices to customers who are.
What Phase 1 Businesses Must Do Now
If you have not started, prioritise the appointment itself and run the remaining work in parallel:
- Confirm your revenue position and which phase you fall into
- Shortlist accredited ASPs and confirm ERP compatibility
- Appoint the ASP through EmaraTax before 30 October 2026
- Clean up customer and supplier master data, including TRNs
- Map your invoice fields to PINT AE and test end to end in November and December
Frequently Asked Questions
Has the UAE e-invoicing go-live date been extended?
No. Only the Phase 1 ASP appointment date moved, from 31 July to 30 October 2026. Mandatory e-invoicing for Phase 1 still starts on 1 January 2027.
Who appoints the ASP, the business or the provider?
The business does, through EmaraTax. The provider cannot make the appointment for you.
My revenue is below AED 50 million. When must I act?
You fall into Phase 2, with an ASP appointment deadline of 31 March 2027 and go-live on 1 July 2027.
What is PINT AE?
The UAE's version of the Peppol International invoice format. ASPs exchange invoices with each other in this structured XML format.
